In Sutton there is a wide range of learning interventions including a range of training and development opportunities specifically for social workers. Our aim is to make sure that you are equipped with the right skills and knowledge to provide the support necessary to meet the needs of Sutton’s vulnerable residents in Sutton.

We are committed to providing all staff with opportunities to develop practice, learn new skills and increase their knowledge in relevant areas. All of our courses are linked to the knowledge and skills statements and professional capabilities framework (PCF) which helps to identify eligibility for courses depending on the level of experience of all staff.

For newly qualified social workers there is a comprehensive assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE) programme and there is a wide range of continuing professional development opportunities for more experienced social workers including practice education and specialist awards.
